Certain property is intended to be turned over and used to settle a portion of the debts. However, there are steps that can be taken to protect your property. What Debt Do You Need to Discharge?
Is it mostly credit card debt? Is it medical bills? Is it a mortgage? Is it student loans? While there are some debts that cannot be discharged through Chapter 7, the discharge of other debts will make the management of those debts much easier.
